Welcome to our first Newsletter On behalf of the G.L.U.E. president, Ken Fuller, I am proud to be a part of the first G.L.U.E. Club Newsletter. Our club has grown to about 120 members. The G.L.U.E. members have been very active this year in helping to maintain moorings and lines as well as relocating some wrecks. Club dive nights have also been a great success. If anyone has any comments, ideas or stories they would like to share with the other members please send an e mail to the club. GLUE Members relocate Wrecks On Saturday, August 2, GLUE members James Pate(photographer), Krystal Lapierre(support) and Harold(captain)and myself set out to photograph a new wreck known as “wreck X” and then over to the William Johnston to raise the marker which has not been up for a couple of years. A new bottle was placed on the William Johnston. The Queen Mary Mooring had the tie rope on the Bottom replaced with a length of Chain by Harold Vandenberg (Seaducer).

Club Dive Nights We had a full boat for the August 2 Saturday club dive. The Seaducer took us out to the Maple Glen. A very large wreck, with 2 gigantic boilers and large prop as seen here:

Following the dive we had a BBQ at the NTD shop, where we were joined by some visiting G.U.E. instructors Andrew Georgitsis, Tyler Moon and some of the tech 1 students. A nice evening was had by all.
August 7 The club took a trip out to the. It was another calm evening on the lake. With a full boat we set off for the Cornwall, a paddle wheeler which lies at about 65 ft. and was a pleasant 64 degrees. A new wreck for most divers on the boat.
August 9 Members decided to try a drift dive by the Three sister Islands.
August14 Diving still happens even during black out’s. Members chose to do a night dive on the Comet.

Tech Corner
As you most likely have heard, there were a lot of technical divers at NTD in the past couple of weeks. Club members got to meet or be taught by Andrew Georgitsis of 5th Dimension, Tyler Moon of Extreme Exposure, Bob Sherwood of the WKPP (all three of these guys dove the Britannic) and of course Kingston’s own Dan Mackay. The first week was the GUE Level1 course; we had people from California, Detroit, Ohio, Peterborough and Kingston.
For the second week, Kevin Ripley and Doug Smeaton finished there GUE Level II with Andrew Georgitsis and Dan Mackay. Bob Sherwood came and filmed the final dive on the Londonderry near Amherst Island.
